What to do
A useful coding-agent brief states the desired behavior, relevant repository area, constraints, acceptance checks, and actions that need approval. Supply facts and outcomes, not an overprescribed implementation.
Describe observable success
State what users or calling code should observe when the task is complete. Include examples and non-goals. Avoid vague requests such as improve this module, which force the agent to invent scope.
Provide repository landmarks
Point to relevant entry points, conventions, commands, and architecture notes. Mention generated files or directories that must not change. Let the agent inspect surrounding code instead of pasting disconnected snippets.
Specify validation and boundaries
List the exact checks to run and the conditions that require a pause. Separate required constraints from preferences so the agent can make reasonable local decisions.

- Compatibility and performance requirements
- Forbidden files, dependencies, and APIs
- Approval gates for network or destructive actions
